Rachel Lipson, the “matriarch of modern music education” is an accomplished educator, prolific songwriter, performer, multi-instrumentalist, entrepreneur and business advisor.

Her first company Blue Balloon Songwriting School began as a one woman music school in a studio apartment in 2008 and developed into what Blue Balloon is today: a network of 75+ amazing and talented independent teachers, teaching hundreds of students a week on many different instruments all over the country.

Rachel is also the founder of Brooklyn Family Travelers, a company focused on making travel easier and more affordable for families.

Rachel lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn with her husband, two boys, a rescue dog Finn and a Windsprite pup, Birdie.
